Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State expressed unwavering confidence in his ability to retain his position amidst the Court of Appeal’s recent ruling ordering a rerun election in three local governments.

“God has chosen me as the governor of Zamfara State,” Lawal declared, emphasizing his unwavering belief in his mandate. “No amount of ‘hypocrisy’ by the opposition will shake my determination to serve the people of Zamfara.”

The Court of Appeal’s decision, which invalidated the governorship election results in Maradun, Birnin-Magaji, and Bukkuyum local governments, has paved the way for a rerun election. However, Lawal remained unfazed by this development, assuring his supporters that the opposition’s attempts to undermine his leadership would prove futile.

“The opposition is envious of the progress we have made in just five months,” Lawal asserted. “They cannot fathom the level of development we have brought to the state, and they are desperate to stop our momentum.”
