Zaria Bandits Attack: Four Killed, Five Arrested

A bandit attack in Zaria Local Government Area left four people dead and resulted in the arrest of five suspects. The attack took place on Friday night in Ungwan Dankali.

ASP Mansur Hassan, 2/ic PPRO, issued a statement detailing the incident. He explained that a joint response team, comprising of the Police, Military and Civilian JTF, pursued the bandits. The superior firepower of the security forces forced the bandits to abandon five kidnapped victims.

The victims, namely Halima Musa (27 years old), Rukaiya Salisu (25 years old), Ummi Sadisu, Yusuf Musa (8 months old), and Aisha Rabiu (2 years old), were immediately rescued and taken to the hospital.

One suspect, Mansir Umar from After Rail Unguwar Dankali, was arrested on the spot. He was found with several military woodland camouflage wears and is suspected to be one of the attackers.

ASP Hassan stated that preliminary investigations are underway and that the suspect is cooperating with the police. Efforts are being intensified to arrest the remaining bandits who managed to escape.

The Commissioner of Police Kaduna Command, CP Musa Yusuf Garba, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He also urged the public to assist the police by providing any information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing bandits.
