In a move enhancing economic ties, Zenith Bank has chosen Paris to establish its European office, marking a milestone in French-Nigerian relations.
French Minister of Trade and Competitiveness, Oliver Becht, expressed his enthusiasm during the Memorandum of Understanding signing at the bank’s Lagos headquarters.
“We are thrilled to welcome in France Zenith Bank’s first office inside the EU. It is undoubtedly a demonstration of mutual confidence,” Becht stated, thanking Zenith Bank’s Chairman Jim Ovia for the strategic decision.
The French Minister emphasized the potential for collaboration, saying, “We hope the presence of Zenith Bank in France will help foster new business projects between our two continents. This decision… can be regarded as a milestone in French-Nigerian economic relations.”

In parallel developments, Becht met with Engie Energy Access Nigeria, focusing on solar sector development. Commending Engie Energy Access for their commitment to sustainable development, Becht highlighted the significance of foreign investment in the energy sector for Nigeria’s economic growth.
“The importance of foreign investment in the energy sector to promote economic growth and social development in Nigeria cannot be overstated,” Becht emphasized.
