Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to abandon any plans to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking to journalists in Ikoyi on Thursday, George pointed out that Atiku, the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, has been pursuing the presidency since 1993.
He appealed to Atiku to conclude his 31-year quest for the nation’s highest office and instead embrace the role of a statesman for the sake of posterity.
In a widely circulated video on social media, George also highlighted that Atiku would be 81 years old by the time of the 2027 elections.

“My advice to Atiku is this. You will be 81 years old in 2027, and you have been contesting for the presidency since 1993. It is time for you to calm down and act like an elder. Take it easy and leave everything for posterity.”
