The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro, has secured the position of Senate Minority Leader.
The politician, who has served two terms as a Senator under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was nominated by the opposition party within the red chamber and subsequently received unanimous affirmation.
This leadership transition follows the removal of Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon, representing Plateau North Senatorial District, by the Appeal Court.
Senator Mwadkwon, a first-time Senator, had previously been nominated by the minority caucus. Notably, the Senate had earlier designated the Minority Leader position to the North Central region.
Abba Moro, a former Minister of Interior during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, now steps into the role of Senate Minority Leader, bringing his wealth of experience to the forefront of opposition leadership in the legislative chamber.
