53 Stolen Electrical Transformers Intercepted in Kogi

Security agents in Kogi State have seized fifty-three electrical transformers intended for various electrification projects across the state.

The interception occurred at Obajana as the truck transporting the transformers was en route to Lagos State. Alongside the truck, a group of criminals was apprehended, suspected of stealing the transformers from the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) facility in the state.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) now holds custody of the intercepted transformers.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo commended the vigilance and dedication of the security agents in response to this incident.

He regarded the recovery of the stolen transformers and the arrest of the criminal gang as evidence of enhanced crime-fighting measures within the state.

Through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismaila Isah, the governor expressed satisfaction with the progress made in combatting crime, emphasizing the administration’s renewed efforts in this regard.

Furthermore, Governor Ododo noted that the apprehended suspects provided valuable information leading to the arrest of a fleeing gang member in Ilorin, Kwara State, as well as the alleged recipient of the stolen transformers in Lagos State.

He reiterated his administration’s resolve to eradicate crimes and ensure security throughout Kogi State.
