Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralized seven bandits and arrested 33 individuals linked to various criminal activities.
The operations, spanning across Kaduna and Plateau States, targeted those involved in kidnapping, murder, arms dealing, criminal attacks, railway vandalism, cattle rustling, and farm destruction.
The Nigerian Army Headquarters made the announcement through an official post on its X handle on Tuesday, detailing the commendable achievements of the troops.
The report highlighted the recovery of several dangerous weapons during the operations.
On November 13, acting on a credible tip-off, troops apprehended Mr. Suleiman Mohammed in the Bakin Kogi area of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area (LGA) in Kaduna State.
He was allegedly in possession of an AK-47 rifle and a mobile phone.
Simultaneously, on the same day, five suspects were arrested in connection with an attack on Mr. Sati Pewat’s farm in Tileng Paat village, Mangu LGA, Plateau State.
Continuing their relentless efforts, on November 14, troops conducted a successful raid operation in Tileng Paat village, Pushit district, Mangu LGA, Plateau State. During the operation, one Umurana Adamu was arrested in possession of an AK 47 rifle, one magazine, and 9 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

In another development on the same day, acting on credible information, troops arrested a suspected arms dealer, Mr. Rufai Abdullahi, in the Kamuru area of Zangon Kataf LGA, Kaduna State.
These operations underscore the commitment of Operation Safe Haven in maintaining security and combating criminal activities in the region. The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its mission to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens.
“On 14 November 2023, troops, while on fighting patrol, made contact with bandits at Kachallah high-ground and engaged them with superior firepower, resulting in the neutralisation of 6 bandits while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
“Troops further exploited the area and recovered one AK 47 rifle, 2 magazines, 52 rounds of 7.62mm special, one motorcycle, 2 Tecno phones, 2 packs of cigarettes, 56 rounds of 7.62mm Special and 112 rounds of 7.62mm NATO of the Bandits.
“In another development, On 14 November 2023, troops neutralised a suspected bandit, Musa Wada, during a search operation at Kondo village.
“Additionally, on 14 November 2023, troops responded to information on a planned attack by suspected militias on Tileng Paat village in Mangu LGA of Plateau State. Troops’ timely response averted the attack and the area was subsequently dominated by patrol.
“In the same vein, on 14 November 2023, troops conducted raid operations to kidnappers’ hideout at Biji Biji village in Hawul and arrested one suspected kidnapper, Dahiru Ibrahim. Items recovered from the suspect included one AK 47 rifle, one magazine and 3 rounds of 7.62mm special”, the post stated. #Bandits
