Economic Hardship Causing Acute Depression, Rise in Insecurity—Iyabo Ojo Laments

Renowned Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo attributes the surge in insecurity across Nigeria to widespread hardship.

Iyabo Ojo maintains that acute hardship, coupled with issues like depression, insomnia, and increased drug usage, contributes significantly to the prevailing insecurity, irrational conduct, and deteriorating mental health within society.

Expressing her concerns on Friday through a post on her Instagram page, Iyabo highlighted that the messages she receives in her direct messages (DM) serve as testimonials affirming these challenges. Consequently, she has decided to cease reading her DMs to safeguard her mental well-being.

In her message, the actress earnestly prayed for divine wisdom for the government, urging them to take prompt and effective measures before the situation escalates further.

Iyabo Ojo emphasizes the need for the authorities to address the root causes of societal challenges, particularly the hardships faced by citizens.
