Anambra Police Apprehend Two Boat Operators

The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the apprehension of the individuals responsible for operating the boat in which the late actor, Junior Pope, and three others tragically lost their lives.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police spokesperson, revealed this information to our correspondent on Saturday, stating that the boat operators are currently detained by the police in connection with the incident.

Ikenga said, “Yes, the boat operators have been arrested. Even the producer of the movie, Adanma Luke. Their statements were taken, and interrogation is ongoing.

“Other members of the cast and crew of the movie would be invited for questioning.”

He pledged that no stone would be left unturned in the investigation of the incident.

According to a report on PUNCH Online, filmmaker Samuel Olatunji shared the news of Pope’s death on Wednesday, April 10. Olatunji stated that the actor, along with three others, tragically lost their lives in a boating accident.

“Four actors, including Jnr Pope, fell into Anam River on their way to a location, and their bodies have been recovered,” he said.
