The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command agents assigned to Rapid Response Squad 74 have arrested Simon Kado, a pastor; his relative, Jesse Simon-Kado, and their driver, Muhammad Isah, for child trafficking.
They were apprehended on Friday when smuggling twelve children from Nasarawa State to Ogun State.
According to FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, “”On Friday, February 9, at approximately 12:55 a.m., members of the FCT Police Command, who are affiliated with the Rapid Response Squad 74, apprehended a man named Muhammad Isah from Kafanchan, Kaduna State. He was driving a Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number APP 489 XE, carrying twelve children, eight of whom were underage, to a location that was later found to be in Ogun State.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the children whose ages are between five years to 16 year, were being trafficked to Ogun state.”
Adeh further promised that investigation is still ongoing and efforts are made to reunite victims with their families.
Kidnappings and bandit assaults have increased recently in FCT. In January 2024, operatives of the Special Intervention Squad, Federal Capital Territory Police Command, apprehended three notorious bandits in a forest within the Bwari area of Abuja.
