The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issah Onilu, has said Bola Tinubu will soon unveil a National Values Charter to showcase the nation’s value system and ethos.
Onilu said this while addressing reporters in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, as part of his two-day visit to the state’s office of the agency.
He noted that “the charter has two components: the Nigerian Promise and the Code of Conduct, and that each of the components stands on seven pillars, tagged: “Seven for Seven.”
According to Onilu, “Mandatory Nationalism Studies in schools from elementary to university level, the formation of the Citizens’ Brigade, which will replace the Boys’ Scouts and Girls’ Guard with 37,000 members at launch nationwide, and the production of cartoons with regional themes are among the seven strategies for the restoration of national values.”
He also announced that the agency would launch international campaigns to show the world Nigeria’s intelligence, self-assurance, and positive smartness. The campaigns would also promote the nation’s values through the use of the acronym CLHEEAN, which stands for Crime, Lawlessness, Health, Education, Environment, Abuse, and Narcotics.

The head of the NOA also announced that the organisation was developing enlightenment platforms, such as a mobile application and the opening of radio and television studios at the NAO headquarters to generate content that will be distributed directly.
Onilu lamented the inadequate rewards system in the country.
He said, “NOA is making every effort to “take oxygen from those misrepresenting us.” #Tinubu
