The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, expressed confidence in his political camp’s readiness for the 2027 elections, citing formidable alliances and unity within his ranks.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service hosted by Senator Barinada Mpigi in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike emphasized the strength of his coalition, asserting, “With the forces we have, I don’t know of anybody who can challenge us.”
Highlighting the unity between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Wike remarked, “It is only in Rivers that you can find that unity.” He underscored the resilience of his party, noting the unprecedented scenario where different parties triumphed in simultaneous elections, with the leading party clinching the presidential seat while the opposition secured the national assembly.

In addition to his electoral projections, Wike advocated for support for economic reform policies, without specifying the president. He urged patience in evaluating the administration’s decisions, emphasizing the need to consider past circumstances and the gradual progress towards desired outcomes.
The event drew figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, and Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martin Amaewhule.
