Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) intercepted a truck loaded with palliatives in the De-Dei area, leading to widespread looting of the essential items.
A video captured on Monday morning depicted suspected hoodlums hastily walking along the busy road, carrying bags of grains looted from the vehicle.
The incident occurred in Dei-Dei, Gwagwa, where a crowd of individuals took matters into their own hands, halting the progress of the truck and seizing the opportunity to help themselves to the contents.
Bags of rice and other provisions were observed being carried away by the masses to undisclosed locations.
The narrator in the video emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “This is Dei-Dei, Gwagwa. The masses stopped some trailer loads of palliatives, and everyone is carrying bags of rice; they are carrying everything.”
