Dozens of worshippers at a mosque in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, were abducted during an attack by bandits on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred while Muslim faithful were observing the congregational Tahajjud prayers, a special prayer observed during the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan.
According to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, who shared details of the incident on X platform, the terrorists launched the attack around 2am.
Makama stated, “In the early morning of Tuesday at about 0200hr, bandits sneaked into Gusau Town and abducted several worshippers in a Mosque while they were observing tahajjud (midnight) prayers.”

As of the time of writing this report, the police had not yet commented on the incident.
