Tigran Gambaryan, the Head of Financial Crime Compliance at Binance, appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja to face charges of tax evasion.
He, along with Nadeem Anjarwalla who has fled, are scheduled for arraignment today at the court.
In the case labeled FHC/ABJ/CR/115/2024, Binance stands accused of failure to register with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and fulfill tax obligations.
According to DAILY POST, Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, Binance’s Regional Manager for Africa, were detained by Nigerian authorities on February 28.

While Anjarwalla managed to escape custody, both executives, along with Binance, are anticipated to be formally charged by the Federal Government for tax evasion and money laundering on Thursday.
Gambaryan, dressed in a black T-shirt and green pants, was escorted into the court by officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at approximately 9:19 am.
