In a move to allow civil servants to fully embrace the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, the government of Sokoto State has declared Friday, April 12, 2024, as a work-free day.
Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, expressed his well wishes to the people of Sokoto, stating, “This is to enable civil servants in the state to continue to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr with members of their families.” He emphasized the importance of spending time with loved ones during this festive period.
Similarly, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State announced the additional holiday to enable workers in the state to fully partake in the Sallah celebrations. He affirmed, “The additional holiday was to allow workers in the state to fully partake in the Sallah celebrations with their loved ones.”
The decision comes following the Federal Government’s extension of the Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11, allowing for an extended period of celebration nationwide.
With these declarations, residents of Sokoto and Katsina States are poised to enjoy a double celebration, combining the religious significance of Eid-el-Fitr with cherished moments spent with family and friends.
