A distressing incident unfolded in Angwar Danko village, situated in Kakangi Constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State, as armed bandits launched an attack, terrorizing the community and forcibly taking captives into the nearby forest.
Reports indicate that the assailants, numbering a considerable size, descended upon the village around 6 pm on Wednesday, unleashing a barrage of gunfire indiscriminately.
Eyewitnesses recount harrowing scenes of men and women being seized by the attackers and compelled to march into the forest against their will.
Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, the Kakangi Ward representative in the State House of Assembly, verified the distressing occurrence. While details regarding the exact number of abducted villagers remain forthcoming, he confirmed that the tally runs into the dozens.

“I just received a call from the area informing me that dozens of my constituents have been abducted. The bandits have surrounded the village, and as we speak, they are still there, taking their victims into the forest. The situation is dire,” he said.
Dan Salio expressed concern, noting that most of the victims were men and suggesting that there could be casualties.
He emphasized the urgent need for authorities to deploy more security checkpoints in the area to restrict the movement of bandits.
When contacted, ASP Mansur Hassan, the Public Relations Officer for the State Police Command, stated that he would reach out to the area for details before providing further comments.
