Ondo State Information Commissioner, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju has dismissed rumours that the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu is bedridden and unable to perform his duties.

She also denied the allegations that some cabal in his cabinet are forging his signature to loot the state’s treasury.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Ms Ademola-Olateju said that the governor, who is currently in his Ibadan home after returning from abroad for medical treatment, is still signing documents and attending to other state matters.

“Nobody is forging the governor’s signature. As I’m standing before you now, I sent two files to Mr governor and two files came back within a week and he approved what I asked for.

“Nobody is looting the treasury of Ondo state. Nobody is forging the governor’s signature,” she said.

She added that the governor does not approve anything more than N20 million without the consent of the State Executive Council, which is bigger than the governor.

The information commissioner was reacting to two signed documents that surfaced online on Wednesday, claiming that Mr Akeredolu’s signature was forged by some cabal in his cabinet to loot the state’s treasury.

Ms Ademola-Olateju also said that the State Executive Council meeting, which was presided over by Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, discussed the peace meeting that was held in Abuja with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The peace meeting was aimed at resolving the political impasse between the governor’s cabinet members and the deputy governor, who had been at loggerheads over the governor’s long absence in Ondo.

“We discussed the Abuja peace meeting that was reached with Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Just like it was done in the House of Assembly, we discussed the resolution made and we agreed on the key decisions made by the president.”

She added that the council members resolved to embrace peace and end all jokes among themselves.

“We sang the national anthem and embraced each other,” she said. #Akeredolu
