The renowned singer and activist, Charly Boy, also known as Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, has put forth the view that the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) is inflicting hunger and despair upon Nigerians.
He made this statement in a recent post on his social media platform on Monday.
“See as APC dey wicked us with hunger and hopelessness. Dia Fathers,” he wrote.
Amidst the backdrop of a recent report from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) indicating Nigeria’s deepening economic crisis, Bola Tinubu has pledged to prioritize efforts to boost food production and transform Nigeria into a net exporter.
The IMF report, titled ‘Review of Nigeria’s Post-Financing Assessment’, highlights concerns over stagnant per-capita growth, widespread poverty, and severe food insecurity exacerbating the country’s persistent cost-of-living crisis.

Tinubu’s commitment to addressing rising hunger and hardship was reiterated in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, following a meeting with a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
