Amidst the backdrop of a recent report from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) indicating Nigeria’s deepening economic crisis, Bola Tinubu has pledged to prioritize efforts to boost food production and transform Nigeria into a net exporter.
The IMF report, titled ‘Review of Nigeria’s Post-Financing Assessment’, highlights concerns over stagnant per-capita growth, widespread poverty, and severe food insecurity exacerbating the country’s persistent cost-of-living crisis.
Tinubu’s commitment to addressing rising hunger and hardship was reiterated in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, following a meeting with a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
