Kemi Badenoch, leader of Britain’s Conservative Party, has pledged to adopt a tough new stance on immigration, stating that the UK “cannot sustain” current immigration levels.
Badenoch vowed to address the issue “without fear,” acknowledging that the party had not done enough to reduce numbers while in government.
She outlined plans to introduce a strict annual cap on legal immigration, though she declined to specify the exact limit.
Additionally, she emphasized that the European Convention on Human Rights would not hinder the implementation of these measures.

Badenoch anticipated that new official figures, due for release tomorrow and covering the year through June, will show a decrease, thanks to measures implemented by the previous government.
However, she emphasized that politicians must prioritize the needs of British citizens before considering assistance for others.
