Edo Election 2024: We Will Investigate Alleged Wrong Figures, Infraction on Polling Unit Result Sheets— INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has responded to claims of wrong figures being entered into polling unit result sheets during the recent Edo State governorship election.

In a statement shared on its official Twitter page, INEC acknowledged the allegation and assured the public that the issue would be investigated promptly.

According to the commission, this is the second complaint received out of the 4,519 polling units used in the election. INEC emphasized that any proven wrongdoing would be dealt with swiftly and according to the law.

The statement reassured voters and observers that the integrity of the election remains a priority and urged anyone with credible information to come forward.

The statement partly reads,”The Commission’s attention has been drawn to an allegation of wrong figures entered into polling unit result sheets in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election.
