Eight Syrian soldiers have recently died as a consequence of Israeli airstrikes.
The rocket launch earlier in the day had prompted the strikes.
Early today, there were attacks in the southern region of Syria.
According to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), their fighter jets attacked Syrian army mortars and military equipment as a result of the prior day’s missile firing against Israel from the region.
Israel’s attack on Syria, its northern neighbor, was mostly aimed at areas held by the Syrian army, Hezbollah fighters, and other groups supported by Iran.
In addition, the strikes caused material damage and resulted in seven soldiers being wounded.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an infantry battalion was also targeted by the raids, which allegedly destroyed weapons storage facilities and a Syrian air defence radar.
The strike occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. (2245 GMT Tuesday) in the vicinity of the southwest city of Deraa.
In response, the IDF shelled the Syrian firing source with artillery.
This incident occurs amid ongoing artillery and rocket exchanges across Israel’s northern borders with Syria and Lebanon between supported Palestinian factions and the terrorist Lebanese group Hezbollah.
Israel is reticent to discuss specific operations it has carried out in Syria, however, it has made it clear that it would not permit its fiercest adversary, Iran, to increase its influence in the country.
