Families of the abducted school pupils and teachers of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools Emure -Ekiti on Saturday evening appealed to the kidnappers to accept N7 million they have been able to raise but the bandits remained adamant, insisting on the full payment of N15 million ransom.
It was gathered that the families of the victims have raised N7 million from contributions in the community.
“I can tell you that from contributions, we have gotten N7 million, we begged the kidnappers to accept N7 million, but they refused. We are still looking for N8 million for it to be completed so that we can rescue these people.

“We want the government to help us during this difficult period. We want our children to be released unhurt”, a distraught parent of one of the kidnapped Ekiti pupils said.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu said operatives of the command both from the state and force headquarters in Abuja are doing everything possible to secure the freedom of the victims.
The police spokesman said, “The Nigeria Police Force Airwing and the Intelligence Response Team have arrived from Abuja to augment the force we have on ground and both overt and covert operations to rescue the kidnapped Ekiti school children have been intensified.”
