“Your Party Lacks the Moral Right to Advise Tinubu,” Group Says as They Blame 16 Years of PDP for Tinubu’s Failure

A group called The Democratic Front (TDF) has strongly criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that the party has no moral authority to offer advice to Chief Bola Tinubu on governance. They attribute Tinubu’s perceived failure to the 16 years of PDP rule, accusing the party of plunging the nation into economic ruin during its time in power.

In a statement released by the group’s Chairman, Danjuma Mohammed, and Secretary, Wale Adedayo, they expressed disbelief at the audacity of the PDP to advise on revitalizing the economy, considering their alleged role in its decline.

“Imagine a political party that failed woefully and landed the country in its present parlous economic state now pontificating on efforts to revitalize the national economy as if they ever had any clue,” the group’s statement read.

The TDF emphasized the need for the PDP to acknowledge its past failures and take responsibility for the current state of the economy. They criticized the party for its lack of remorse and sensitivity to the consequences of its actions during its time in power.

“The absurdity and the manner the NEC members exhibited pretentious insensitivity to the tragic consequences of their party’s 16 years of misrule resonated the role PDP played to hinder the growth and development of the Nigerian state,” the statement continued.

According to the group, the PDP’s track record of mismanagement and corruption will forever be remembered by Nigerians. They argued that the PDP should show humility and refrain from criticizing Chief Tinubu’s economic policies, which they described as successful.

“This litany of PDP’s failures and unprecedented maladministration will remain evergreen in our collective memory as a people. So it is egregiously ridiculous that PDP NEC members will cast aspersions on President Bola Tinubu’s highly performing economic team and ask him to reverse his impressively successful economic policies,” the statement concluded.

The TDF urged the PDP to focus on addressing the internal challenges within its party structure rather than attempting to advise other political leaders. They believe that only by acknowledging and rectifying their past mistakes can the PDP regain the trust of the Nigerian people.
