Minister of Justice, Fagbemi Says Amid IPOB Leader's Court Appearances —I Don't Know Nnamdi Kanu

The Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, has stated that he does not know the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

During the second day of the Ministerial Sectoral Updates, a media event organized to mark the first year of Chief Bola Tinubu in office, Fagbemi clarified that the cases of Nnamdi Kanu and Omoyele Sowore are different.

When asked why Sowore and Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho were released while Kanu remains in custody, Fagbemi responded, “Nnamdi Kanu and Sowore’s case are not the same. If I see Sowore, I don’t know him; if I see Nnamdi Kanu, I don’t know him.”

“So, Nnamdi Kanu is being held under the rule of law and the court.

“Let’s wait for the decision of the court. No one will be held outside the laws of the country,” he added.

Notably, Fagbemi did not mention the case of Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba Nation activist, who was recently freed by the Federal Government.
