I Wasn’t Ready to Leave Barcelona, It Was Difficult at PSG – Messi

Lionel Messi, the superstar of Inter Miami, has confessed to undergoing a significant “life rebuild” following his departure from Barcelona in 2021.

Messi’s association with Barcelona dates back to his early teens, but he parted ways with the La Liga giants when his contract expired.

Subsequently, the 36-year-old embarked on a new journey with Paris Saint-Germain, where he faced challenges settling into life in the French capital initially.

Despite a challenging debut season with PSG, Messi showcased his prowess by contributing 16 goals and 16 assists in Ligue 1 during the 2022-23 campaign.

Messi told the Big Time podcast: “The change was difficult when I went to PSG, because I was doing very well in Barcelona and I planned to stay there.

“I was not prepared to leave, everything happened very quickly, I had to rebuild my life from one day to the next. I got to know another league, another club, a new locker room.

“It was a change that we were not looking for and that is why it was difficult at first.”
