Imade of Bendel Insurance Signs for Dubai Club United FC

Bendel Insurance striker Imade Osehenkhoe has reportedly signed for United FC of Dubai. The deal is purportedly going to run for 3 years with an option for a 4th.

Although DC United are yet to unveil the player, Bendel Insurance have officially announced the transfer on X confirming that the player has left the club. Prior to Bendel Insurance announcement, the player on Monday took to his Instagram page posting a photo of himself wearing a DC United jersey with the caption “NEW HOME NEW CHALLENGE GOD IS GREATEST”.

Imade participated in the Nigeria University Games (NUGA), where he scored four goals in the competition at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State. He was scouted by the club while he was a student at the University of Benin.

Imade, who was a student in the petroleum engineering department at the time, won five Engineering HOD’s Cups, twice finished second in the VC’s game as an engineering student in the faculty, and twice won the Dean’s Cup as a petroleum engineering student.

He afterwards established himself with Bendel Insurance, where he contributed to their 2022 promotion back to the top level and last season’s miraculous NPFL run by his team.

Imade scored eight goals to help his team accomplish this unheard-of accomplishment as Bendel Insurance finished first in Group A of the condensed 2022–23 season and had an undefeated season.

The former Higher Institution Football League (HiFL) standout scored a penalty in the Federation Cup final to give Benin its first championship in more than 40 years. They thereby qualified to represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup this year.

The 22-year-old scored twice in the past ten days, once against ASO Chlef in his team’s CAF Confederation Cup first round encounter against ASO Chlef in Benin and once against RS Berkane; he opened the scoring in the game against Berkane that ended in a 2-2 draw.

The player will not be available to travel to Morocco with Bendel Insurance for the return leg against RS Berkane on Friday.
