Iran Shows Off Advanced Hypersonic Missile Amid Rising Tensions

Iran

In a showcase of military muscle, Iran revealed an enhanced version of its hypersonic Fattah II missile at a Tehran exhibition attended by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The upgraded missile, capable of speeds up to Mach 15 and a range of 1,400km, offers heightened maneuverability with its hypersonic glide vehicle technology. The display also featured an improved Shahed UAV series, an upgraded 9-Dey missile defense system, and a new solid-fuel missile defense system named Mehran.

The move comes amidst escalated tensions in the region, amplified by heightened US military presence following Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. Khamenei, condemning Israel and its allies for Gaza bombings, labeled the Zionist regime a “symbol of racism.” He urged Islamic governments to sever political ties with Israel and called for a temporary halt in energy and goods flow to the country.
