ISWAP Destroys Power Transmission Tower Along Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway

Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) has reportedly carried out another act of sabotage, destroying a 330KVA high tension transmission line along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway.

The incident, revealed by counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, through a post on X, occurred in the early hours of December 28, 2023, around 0700hours, specifically between Yanayakiri-Garin Kuturu in the Jakana general area.

Zagazola highlighted that this act of terrorism follows a previous incident on December 21, where the terrorists vandalized two transmission towers near Katsaita village.

The destruction of these towers resulted in a power supply failure affecting parts of Borno and Yobe.
