He expressed deep sorrow, emphasizing the significance of the loss, stating, “Our motherland has lost one of her most valiant generals.” The demise of General Ogolla, in particular, has left a profound void, with President Ruto lamenting, “The demise of General Ogolla is a painful loss to me.”
During a press briefing, President Ruto extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, acknowledging the gravity of the situation as he termed it a “tragic moment” for the nation.

Despite past allegations, President Ruto recognized General Ogolla’s unparalleled qualifications for the position, stating, “He was the most qualified person for the job.”
