The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has made a significant announcement, appointing former U17 World Cup winner Manu Garba as the Head Coach of the Nigeria U17 boys, Golden Eaglets.
Garba, who previously led the team to victory in the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2013, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
During his coaching tenure in 2013, he guided the Golden Eaglets to triumph in the FIFA U17 World Cup held in the United Arab Emirates, marking Nigeria’s fourth victory at that level.
Under his leadership, the squad showcased exceptional talent, boasting players such as Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, Isaac Success, Musa Mohammed, Chidiebere Nwakali, and goalkeeper Dele Alampasu.
Garba’s appointment comes as the team gears up for the upcoming WAFU B U17 Championship, set to take place in Ghana next month. With his proven track record and experience, Garba is expected to lead the Golden Eaglets in their pursuit of success in the tournament.
