Popular Nigerian comedian and activist, Mr. Macaroni, has called out power-drunk Lagos State Commissioner of Tourism, Mrs. Toke Benson, over her alleged misconduct towards a citizen.
In a post shared on his X handle, Mr. Macaroni criticized the commissioner for reportedly threatening to break a citizen’s phone for recording her.
He described her behavior as outrageous and unbecoming of a public servant.
Mr. Macaroni questioned the sense of entitlement displayed by the commissioner, particularly her statement asking, “Who is paying your salary?”
He condemned the notion that holding political office in Nigeria gives public servants the right to act as “lords and masters” over citizens.
He also expressed frustration at the attitude of another individual allegedly present during the incident, who reportedly said, “Do you know who you are talking to?”
The comedian did not mince words as he denounced the culture of impunity among political officeholders in Nigeria.

He emphasized that public servants are accountable to the citizens they serve and not the other way around. “Is it your money?” he asked, reminding officials that public funds come from taxpayers and are not personal property.
