NAF Arrest Notorious Kidnapper in Kano

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) troops deployed at Durbunde in Takai Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State have arrested a 35-year-old notorious kidnapper identified as Isah Abdul.

Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information, revealed that Abdul, a well-known kidnapper, along with his accomplices, who were responsible for numerous kidnapping cases in the state, were arrested on Monday at approximately 6:30 pm. He stated that the successful operation was conducted with meticulous coordination based on reliable intelligence regarding their hideout.

In a statement, Gabkwet mentioned that investigations have unveiled that Isah Abdul and his accomplices were the perpetrators behind the kidnapping of Yakubu Ibrahim Tagaho, also known as “Sarkin Noman Gaya,” on April 6, 2023, at Tagaho Village in Takai Local Government Area.

Gabkwet stated that the victim was eventually released a month later, following the payment of a ransom amounting to N30,000,000.

He also added that, in December 2023, the same perpetrator abducted two sisters and three additional individuals from the same village, subsequently releasing them after demanding a substantial ransom.

Gabkwet also highlighted Abdul’s involvement in numerous other kidnapping incidents, emphasizing his connections with well-known kidnapping gangs such as the Danbul Fulaku gang, which also operates within the Takai Local Government Area.

Isah Abdul is presently under the custody of the Nigerian Air Force and is still undergoing investigations. Following the conclusion of these investigations, he will be transferred to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings. #kidnapper
