Peter Obi Commends Super Eagles Despite AFCON Loss

In an acknowledgment of Nigeria’s performance at the AFCON tournament, 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi extended his congratulations to the national team, the Super Eagles, despite their defeat in the final match against Cote d’Ivoire.

Obi praised the team’s resilience and spirit, stating, “The eventual outcome of the game did not in any way remove the fact that Nigeria is a home of talents, as exemplified by our national team.”

He commended the players for their outstanding performance and professionalism, acknowledging their role in reflecting “the resilient spirit of the Nigerian people, the giants of Africa.”

In a call for unity and collective progress, Obi emphasized, “In our journey to the New Nigeria we look forward to, we must unite as one, and collectively build our nation.”

While celebrating the unity fostered by the tournament, Obi also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in support of the national team, stating, “To our fellow compatriots who lost their lives in the course of the football matches, we remember and mourn them today.”#AFCON
