Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, recently visited Bayelsa State to join other dignitaries in honouring the memory of the late Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, the elder sister of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, at her country home in Otuoke.
Expressing his condolences on his X-handle, Peter Obi conveyed heartfelt sympathies on behalf of his family to President Goodluck Jonathan and the entire Jonathan family for their profound loss.

“On behalf of my family, I sincerely condole with him and the entire Jonathan family for the huge loss. Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, as a retired teacher, contributed immensely to our nation by playing a pivotal role in our education sector, a very critical area in our national development.
“May God Almighty, whom it pleased to call her home at this time, grant her eternal rest, and grant her beloved mother, President Goodluck Jonathan, and the entire family, the fortitude to bear her sad irreplaceable loss,” he concluded.
