Tragedy struck the Mission Ward North Bank Dunamis Church in Makurdi, the capital of Benue, as the Church building collapsed in the wee hours of Tuesday, leaving a pastor dead.
The pastor alongside three other worshippers were reportedly praying in the church building prior to the tragedy, according to sources.
The other three people managed to escape the rubble.
The collapse had an impact on nearby residential structures and the electrical network.
The occurrence not only affected adjacent residential structures and the electrical infrastructure, but the precise root cause remained uncertain at the time of filing this report.
However, it was discovered that, while emergency personnel and responders were making efforts to reach the site of the collapsed structure, police officers from the ‘C’ Division in North Bank, Makurdi, were already present at the scene.
