Peter Obi Condemns Uga Attack, Calls for Decisive Action Against Rising Insecurity

In the wake of the brutal attack in Uga town, Aguata LGA of Anambra State, Peter Obi has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and urged the Federal Government to take decisive action against the rising insecurity in the region.

The incident, which resulted in the deaths of police officers and the abduction of several commuters, has sparked widespread concern.

Obi stated, “The disturbing reports of a tragic violent attack that occurred at Uga, in Anambra State, yesterday, 28 December, which claimed the lives of two policemen attached to my dear brother Chris Ubah, is a very sad one.”

He further revealed that the assailants also kidnapped some unidentified individuals and went on a rampage in Amesi Community in the same Aguata LGA, killing a vigilante named Chigbo Onuegbu (Akawo) and abducting another.

Expressing his dismay at the deteriorating state of security, Obi said, “It is sad that our society has degenerated to this level where violence has become a ready mode of expression. This recourse must not only be condemned but also combatted by the authorities. Every act of terror and violence must be condemned. We must not allow our society to lose the sense of sacredness of life.”
