Pyrates Confraternity Urges Immediate Action Against Plateau Killings, Slams Governor’s Response

Plateau

In a call to halt the violence in Plateau State, the National Association of Seadogs (NAS), also known as Pyrates Confraternity, has demanded swift and decisive action.

Abiola Owoaje, NAS Capoon, emphasized, “The Bloodshed on the Plateau Must Stop,” expressing solidarity with victims and urging for justice.

Owoaje decried the persistent failure of Nigeria’s security architecture, particularly the centrally-controlled policing system. He highlighted the ineffectiveness of joint security teams in Plateau State, allowing criminal elements to operate unabated for three days.

Citing characteristics of a failed state, Owoaje drew attention to the urgent need for a change in approach. He called for the establishment of a State Police, asserting, “The central policing system in Nigeria has failed, and it is time for decisive action.”

The NAS Capoon criticized Plateau State Governor Caleb Muftwang’s response to the crisis, urging him to emulate the South-West’s establishment of a local vigilante network. Owoaje insisted, “President Tinubu must take proactive steps to deal with the wanton acts of constant brutality once and for all.”

Highlighting the critical need for a comprehensive resolution to the herders/farmers’ conflict, Owoaje stressed, “President Tinubu should convene a sincere and frank discussion with all stakeholders.”

He concluded by challenging Governor Muftwang’s priorities, stating, “His decision to join the Christmas voyage to Lagos amid deep grief in Plateau represents the height of misplaced priority.”
