Social media commentator Shehu Gazali Sadiq has accused Pastor Enoch Adeboye of hypocrisy and bias following the cleric’s call for young Nigerians to propose solutions to the country’s problems.
Shehu Gazali Sadiq took to X on Monday, tweeting: “When GEJ was in office, Pastor Adeboye led protests against the government without asking young Nigerians to offer solutions to Nigeria’s problems. Now that Tinubu is in power, he’s urging youth to propose solutions. A tribal bigot on the pulpit.”
Sadiq’s tweet references Adeboye’s recent devotional message titled “From Critic to Activist” in the Open Heavens Daily Devotional.
In the message, the RCCG General Overseer encouraged Nigerians, especially the youth, to move beyond mere criticism and actively engage in solution-oriented actions.

“Don’t just criticise things or people; become a part of the solution you desire to see. Carrying placards and protesting may attract attention, but beyond that, you must grow to where you can recommend and even provide the solutions you demand,” Adeboye said.
Adeboye also cited biblical examples, including Elijah and Moses, to illustrate the importance of combining passion with knowledge and strategic action in bringing about meaningful change.
Sadiq’s criticism has sparked discussion on social media, with some users supporting his view that religious leaders should apply guidance consistently, regardless of who holds political power.
@Youthinprocess tweeted: “It’s easy to critique from the pulpit, but real influence comes from the ballot, not sermons. When citizens especially youth turn out en masse, thugs hesitate, votes count, and governance aligns with collective needs. Proposals matter, but shaping policy starts with participation; apathy fuels manipulation. Every PVC holder is a seat at the table. Get your PVC.”
