59 Passengers Narrowly Escape Death as Terrorists Burn Ifesinachi Luxury Bus in Ogun

Approximately fifty-nine passengers narrowly averted tragedy when suspected terrorist assaulted and looted their bus before setting it ablaze along the Ijebu-Ode-Benin expressway.

The passengers, who were traveling to the southeast to celebrate Easter, encountered the attack at Oke Ado Junction, Ijebu Imushin.

The Ogun State Police Command verified the incident through a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola.

According to the PPRO, the incident occurred at Oke Ado junction in Ijebu Mushin, where a luxury Mercedes Benz bus operated by Ifesinachi Transport Ltd was destroyed by fire.

SP Odutola stated, “It happened in Oke Ado junction at Ijebu Mushin. A luxury bus of Mercedes Benz was burnt down.

“The vehicle was coming from Maza Maza before it encountered the hoodlums. No reference to gun was made. They (the hoodlums) carried cutlasses.

“The 59-seater bus was said to be operated by Ifesinachi Transport Ltd,” he added.

In the midst of the chaos, social media influencer Chude Nnamdi shared a harrowing account from one of the passengers.

The passenger recounted, “Ifesinachi Motors, we were travelling in the night to come back to the East for Easter celebration, and criminals attacked us in Ijebu Ode along Ore/Benin expressway.

“They robbed us of everything we had, some they stripped half-naked.

“They locked us inside the 59-seater luxury bus and set it ablaze. We thank God that we later escaped; nobody died, but everything we had was collected.

“We thank God that we didn’t lose anyone, but we lost everything we were travelling with and some sustained injuries.

“This is Ifesinachi Motors that we are travelling with on Friday night, and this attack happened around 2 am,” he disclosed.
