Amid untold hardships imprisoning Nigerians and a retrogressive economy, award-winning TV journalist Rufai Oseni has advised Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fly Airpeace or other local airlines instead of buying new jets, which amounts to a waste of resources.
Recall that the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence earlier backed the House of Representatives’ call for new aircraft for Bola Tinubu and Kassim Shettima.
The Chairman of the Committee, Umar Shehu Buba said not quickly overhauling the presidential air fleet could endanger the lives of President Tinubu and his deputy.
The House Committee on National Security and Intelligence had in a report forwarded to the presidency asked the federal government to immediately procure two airplanMessrs. Tinubu and Shettima to secure their transportation.
The call by the House Committee immediately triggered widespread criticism by some Nigerians who questioned the wisdom in buying new aeroplanes at a time Nigeria is facing severe economic hardship.
Reacting, Rufai Oseni on X formerly Twitter, wrote, “The Nigerian president should fly Airpeace or other local airlines. We don’t have money to buy new jets.”
