The police on Wednesday recovered the dead body of a 30-year-old man who allegedly drowned inside Elegushi Beach, Lagos, where he had gone for prayers.
The Lagos Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known to newsmen.
Hundeyin revealed that a man who pleaded anonymity reported the case to the Ilasan Police Division at about 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to the man’s report, on Tuesday, at midnight, the deceased and three of his friends left Igbesan in Ogun for Elegushi Beach, Lekki, for prayers.

“During the prayer session, at about 4.00 am one of the friends, named Samuel, 30, allegedly drowned,” the man added.
Hundeyin stated that the family members of the deceased have been contacted, and the investigation is ongoing.
