Both parties have expressed confidence of victory ahead of the judgment. Simon Venmak Gomla, a Zonal Chairman of PDP Plateau South, said he was optimistic of retaining the governorship seat at the appeal court, despite losing some National Assembly seats to the APC .

On the other hand, Sylvanus Namang, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, said he was sure of winning the governorship appeal, adding that the PDP was only deceiving itself by thinking of victory.
