In an incident at Kwali Market, Abuja, a 36-year-old man named Jamilu met with misfortune on Tuesday as he attempted to abscond with a woman’s recently purchased foodstuffs.

The lady, Mrs. Patience Raphael, had just completed her shopping, which included items like rice, beans, garri, and yam, all neatly packed in a sack. Seeking assistance to transport her groceries, Jamilu volunteered to help carry the load to the roadside.

Seizing the opportunity to escape with the woman’s foodstuffs, Jamilu rushed across the road, but his getaway was abruptly halted when he was struck by a passing vehicle around 11 am.

A witness, Ibrahim Audu, recounted the incident, stating, “In fact, I was even the one that was trying to call a wheel barrow pusher to come and carry the foodstuffs for the lady when the man came to help carry the load.
