US-based Nigerian Bodybuilder Dies 18 Days After Being Shot by Wife During Argument

Michael Chidozie, a 26-year-old Nigerian bodybuilder residing in the US, passed away 18 days after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds from his wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae, during a heated argument on March 21st.

According to Daily Mail, despite being on life support, Chidozie succumbed to complications arising from a severe spinal injury on April 8th.

Reports indicate that Chidozie was shot four times by his wife in their Houston apartment, witnessed by their young children. Police responding to the scene found him wounded and his wife distraught, clutching their two-year-old and three-year-old.

ABC13 reveals court documents detailing Chidozie’s injuries—two shots to the torso, one to the arm, and one to the chest.

Keaiirra, 28, was initially charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and has since been released on bail.

She claims self-defense, asserting that she feared for her life when Chidozie pursued her into their bedroom, prompting her to grab a pistol and shoot him.

Despite Chidozie’s tragic demise, Keaiirra’s charges remain unchanged. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 23rd.
